Throughout the school year our PTA hosts a wide variety of fun and engaging programs.

These can sometimes take a lot of volunteers to execute. If you are interested in volunteering please let us know.

Art Docents

Kids love art! Art Docents are volunteers that visit the classroom to introduce children to the wonders of art appreciation. For more information, visit the Art Docents page.

Awards

We are grateful to have so many dedicated teachers and volunteers, and we honor them with PTA awards in the spring. To see a list of previous winners, visit the Awards page.

Before & After School Programs

After School programs is a selection of PTA-supported programs offered to students at Cedar Wood. For more information about dates, times and costs, visit the Before and After School Enrichment page.

Birthday Book Club

Celebrate your child’s birthday by donating a book to the Cedar Wood Library in their name. Thank you for supporting the Cedar Wood Library! For more information from our librarian and how to join, visit the Birthday Book Club page.

Community Outreach

Our PTA supports our students, families, and local community via a Food Drive in November (with Hope Creek Food Bank) and a Gift Card/Toy Drive in December. We also make a donation to the Everett School District shoe fund each year.

Friendship Directory

Each year, the PTA gives a student directory to every household! In order for your student to be included you will need to complete a waiver online or you can print/fill out the paper Friendship Directory Waiver and send to school in a sealed envelope labled “PTA” with your student.

5th Grade Celebration

We celebrate our graduating 5th graders and their families with a party at the end of the school year.

Grants

Twice a year, the PTA funds grant requests from Cedar Wood staff. To learn more about what we fund or to apply for a grant, visit the Grants page.

Popcorn

Once a month, we host Popcorn Fridays—all students can grab a free bag of popcorn after they eat lunch.

Read-at-Home (AquaSox)

In the Spring, the PTA implements a local reading program where students can earn prizes for reading and attend an AquaSox baseball game.

Reflections

The Reflections Program is a National PTA and WSPTA cultural arts competition. The purpose is to provide an opportunity for students to use their creative talents by expressing themselves through their own original works. For more information, visit the Reflections page.

Running Club

Cedar Wood’s PE Teacher, Mrs. Reese, heads this FREE activity, open to all students. Runners meet on Fridays before school, track their miles, and earn charms to hang on a shoelace necklace. For more information or to get this year’s gear, visit the Before and After School Enrichment page.

Spirit Wear

Staff Appreciation

We demonstrate appreciation for Cedar Wood staff members with periodic meals and snacks.

Watch D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students)

Watch DOGS are dads and other father figures who spend a full day at Cedar Wood helping in the classroom, playing at recess, and squeezing into tiny tables at lunch. For more information visit the Watch DOGS page.

Welcome Committee

In the summer, we welcome new Kindergarten families (our Sea Pups) to Cedar Wood with summer playground meetups. We also host a Back to School informational night in September and provide a welcome packet to students and staff.
